Cloud computing is one of the best things IT industry created in the last few years: Like water of power, people can run the services they really need on a stable and flexible network. From the developer perspective, powering the cloud is much harder: Yours servers need to be decide which application must be run on a specific set of resources. Grid hosting was the first industry that brought web services to a new step of scalability. For example with Mosso and MediaTemple, it became affordable to run websites on a large cluster of servers. Now, cloud computing has learned a lot from the pioneers of grid hosting. This session is about cloud hosting, common modern methods and techniques to scale apps and speed up services. The audience learns how to easily built their own grid hosting service. Session includes a case study from large European new media company that was able to cut of costs of their hosting costs using grid/cloud technologies.
