Talk at UNC CAUSE 2010 (English - US)
Institutions continue to struggle with a proliferation of class response systems on campus. Not wanting students to have to purchase “specialist devices” (Jones et al. 2006), some faculty at UNC-CH have begun to experiment with services that leverage mobile devices that students already own. Attempts to use systems that support only WiFi transmission of data have been not as successful as those that also support SMS submission. In Spring 2010, the Center for Faculty Excellence sponsored a pilot of PollEverywhere, one such system. The session will discuss results from a survey of 500+ undergraduate Biology students and faculty users. Audience members will be invited to use Poll Everywhere to answer questions posed by the presenter and to submit their own questions to the group.

Possibly the best display of technology use at the conference! Would be interested in seeing its use outside of the sciences.

Great presenter! Enjoyed hearing how this product was tested, implemented and the feedback from both the faculty and student sides.
