This session will explain how the Office of the State Auditor IS/Financial Partnership initiative will affect IT audits at the universities. The State Auditor’s new IS/Financial Partnership initiative has IS Auditors assisting the financial auditors for the financial statement audits at the universities. IS Auditors will review information systems controls each year as part of the financial audits and will continue to perform IT Audits at the universities. The IS/Financial Partnership will result in more IT audit coverage at the university. This session will explain the purpose and objectives of the IS/Financial Partnership initiative and how it will impact the universities.

Thank you thank you thank you. The increased level of collaboration and transparency between your office and those of us responsible for the environments you audit yield benefits both large and small. Capacity planning, scheduling of projects, etc are all impacted by the audit cycle and knowing what the game plan is makes it easier for everyone involved. I can't tell you how nice it is to be able to go into the next year with a clear understanding of which standards will be used to evaluate our environments. It always leads to unnecessary stress and wasted effort when no one knows which rule book is going to be used.
