With all the conversations around Web 2.0 it can be hard to figure out the real dos and do-nots of a RIA application. In this talk we’ll talk about the direct experiences I’ve had in the creation of RIA using PHP, ZF, and Adobe Flex/AIR

Specifically the intent behind this talk is to discuss the functional challenges in taking a mission-critical application which has been entirely client-side and converting it to the Web and SOA. We’ll discuss the challenges we’ve faced in the integration of client-side hardware (barcode scanners, etc), challenges in the software (network latency), and challenges in the process. Of course, we will also look at a great deal of real code in the implementation!
