In Diskussionen über die Vorzüge und Nachteile von Frameworks wird den Unittests häufig keine Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt und ausschließlich Features stehen im Vordergrund. Jedoch sind Tests das Gütesiegel eines jeden Frameworks und bringen Risiken und Vorzüge der Nutzung ans Tageslicht. Wir werden dafür die Tests der bekannten Frameworks Zend, eZ Components, Symfony und CakePHP analysieren und vergleichen.
