2018 marks the 20th anniversary of the term "open source" and the Open Source Initiative. What most people don't realise is that PHP pre-dates this by three years and has had a profound and lasting effect on the internet as we know it. But what sort of effect can you, personally, have on PHP?
In this keynote, VM Brasseur will cover:
• What is F/OSS, where does PHP fit in, and why does this matter?
• How to locate a F/OSS project to contribute to.
• How to get started with your contributions and what to expects.
• Why this is worth the time and hassle.

Great mix of information and persuasion.
Great entry point for would-be OSS contributorsfrom a major voice in the OSS community.
My favorite talk so far. Empowering contributors to look at new projects. I'd recommend her to keynote for any conference.
I though Open Source was just - use it it is free.
Nope, boy was I off track.
Thanks for opening my eyes to the world of Open Source.
