Fantastic overview of Varnish!

Samantha was great at providing ways not just to implement Varnish, but also verify caching. She did great at starting with the baseline requirements then gently building on it so that I wasn't left feeling lost in all the configuration options. It was great to see what was available but also what is prohibited so I didn't spend time attempting a task that isn't feasible.

I would like to have seen more about caching an API layer.

Thank you, Samantha, for providing a great overview of the incredible power of Varnish. I haven't used it yet, but will be re-watching your presentation and checking it out. :)

I'm not fully satisfied since I didn't get the full understanding of the benefits (where varnish helps and where not), but that me.
Maybe some more examples on how to measure the improvements? Maybe you can tell why some applications do not benefit from varnish (e.g. Moodle -- is this still correct?)...

Thank you for this presentation!

It was an awesome talk.
Can't wait to implement this at work ;)

This just blew me away...I know Varnish was a useful tool, but yay! this is awesome.

Samantha did a great job presenting. I have very little criticism. The biggest thing was cramming the 3-hour presentation into a little more than 1 hour.

I was very impressed with code videos. Made the whole presentation very smooth.

Thanks again!

Amazing talk, even though it was a lot of configuration settings. Well done!

This was quite extensive given the 1-hour time constraint, but Samantha provided good insight into how to get Varnish configured for a common WordPress site. I find there are a lot of gotchas that can bite you when setting up Varnish (i.e. almost nothing comes completely for free), but this is a good starting point for digging in and customizing a Varnish installation for your application.
