Whenever possible, use short pre-recorded videos, gifs on a slide, or annotated screenshots instead of live demos. There will always be unexpected problems (that seem to only happen because it's live) and you're stuck trying to fix it or work around it on the spot.
The session started with the thought that this is a problem for everyone and we'll all discuss solutions. Perhaps this format would have worked better as a BOF?
As a session, I would have liked to see more examples. What sorts of things did you try that weren't successful? In the interest of everyone in the room contributing their solutions, it might have been nice to make time to let the room discuss and showcase their own solutions, but I suppose that would introduce it's own set of problems.
