Happy new year! Hope everyone has had a much-deserved break because we're kicking off 2018 with a bang! Come join us for these two exciting topics.

What the FLOAT!?

We have all seen some pretty interesting things happen when using floats. You might even know how to get around most of these problems. But why do these problems occur? Why do floats become so inaccurate when working with really small, or really large numbers? In this talk, we will take a look at decimal values through the eyes of a computer to get a better understanding of whats going on behind the scenes.

Nithen Naidoo, CEO of Snode Technologies will be delivering a presentation on how mathematics can prevent cyber-attacks and fraud. This presentation was delivered at the Security Summit, ISF and SKA Radio Telescope in Kimberley. Snode Technologies was a Top 5 finalist for the African Innovation Awards in 2017.
