A job well done, considering it was the first talk you ever gave. It was nice to see how you managed to improvise, noticing that your audience was a bit more technically knowledged then you anticipated. You tend to fall into repetition every once in a while, but that's quite understandable when improvising. Maybe add some humorous slides in your deck to keep the whole talk lighter and maintain attention throughout.
Well done!
I didn't know much of Magento. Now I have a clear view when to start with it and when not. Gabriel known his subject very well. It was his first talk, he can improve his technique and I'm confident that we soon will see him again on stage ;-) Well done Gabriel.
I liked that you were always able to put back any question into context and that you were never falling into the trap "My solution is the best and all the other are crap".
You also manage to adapt to your audience on the go which ended up in a very interactive talk.
Good job! As mentioned before, a tip of the hat for adapting to the interest of your audience at last last minute, much appreciated.
It was obvious you put a lot of effort into researching the competition and comparing them to your solution, Magento. Don't let a comment from the audience doubt your research, until you know what their opinion is based on.
This talk was good to get familiarized with Magento. It's weird and intriguing to hear people love Magento because they have so many options but also have a bad reputation in regards to performance.
Understanding the architectural needs makes it more sense why to use Magento into bigger e-commerce challenges.
Bringing this message was a tough task, but it was given in a natural, honest way. Job well done.
Tips for improvement:
- keep an eye on time
- don't get seduced to get into discussions that derail your talk (leave them for after)
Thanks everyone for the constructive feedback, I sincerely appreciate it!
