Blockchain, Cryptocurrency. Bitcoin, Ethereum. Buzzwords? Trendy topics? Sure. As a developer, I’m not very interested in the hype or the crazy speculation. But I want to understand the underlying technology. How Bitcoin works. What makes Ethereum useful. The concepts and algorithms used by Bitcoin, Ethereum, and the thousands other coins that were created in the last years. I read the Bitcoin whitepaper. I found it very interesting. To share my new knowledge, I’d like to create a cryptocurrency in PHP… with you. This session should be more than enough. Along the way, you will hopefully better understand what makes Bitcoin revolutionary.

I was unsure what to expect upfront but it turns out this talk is probably the easiest explanation I have seen thus far of blockchain and cryptocurrency. A smart move to pull this into the PHP context! It's a shame the first demo didn't work out, but the other demo's were impressive. Thanks!

I agree with Stephan, that was the easiest explanation of a blockchain that I've heard. also was really nice to see that implemented in PHP!

Blockchain made easy!

Probably the best session of the conference

I’ve seen lot of videos and tutorials and explainations about blockchain and crypto currencies in the past. All were based on technical aspect of this subject. I’ve never understood pretty much anything. When this talk started I thought “umh, here we go again” but, surprise, I was wrong.
Not easy subject explained in a very easy and intuitive way that confirms my idea about Fabien: he’s a really smart guy who knows how to share his knowledge.

Not quite keynote material for me, but the complex topic was explained very well. Liked how the talk was organised and how each demo made perfect sense in the end.

Great insight and as @skoop mentioned - a great idea to demonstrate Blockchain in PHP

Interesting subject.
The only complain I can make is that more type-hinting on code would help to better understand how informations were passed between methods and classes

As usual Fabien explained complex things in the simplest way possible.

It was impressive who this quite complex subject was explained and tested in such an easy way. Thank you very much!
