You’ve probably heard stories about the Rust programming language, and you’re probably wondering why it’s becoming so popular. In this talk, you’ll see what Rust is from a PHP developer’s perspective. Get ready for a live-coding session, where we are going to recreate an existing PHP application in Rust, from scratch, and demystify all the awesomeness behind it. After this talk, yol better understand Rust, and you will be able to apply some of its safety techniques in your everyday PHP code.

This is exactly the kind of talk I needed to push me into finally playing around with Rust.
Nuno moved at breakneck speed to get us moving in 30 minutes, but was still able to clearly explain things along the way, including bits on the who, what, why, and (importantly) how.
Rust is great, and I'm stoked to see it being covered. The 30-minute time slot is not enough for an intro course, and yet Nuno managed to cover a lot of ground very efficiently. Thanks!
I’ve been wanting to learn about Rust and Nuno gave an awesome intro into it. His talk was energetic and well given.

First amazing name ;)... Second Nuno delivered an amazing and engaging talk which led us through a very quick and easy initiation into Rust, following along actually had me running my first ever rust application locally on my computer with no effort at all.
