Mental health issues are something that affects a staggeringly high number of people in the software community yet are a topic rarely spoken about due to the stigmas associated with them.

In this talk we will hear some of the things to look out for in others as well as in ourselves, and how it could be affecting us and those around us. Mark draws on his personal experiences of imposter syndrome, depression and anxiety to highlight how these have had a profound impact on his development career. Mark will also be highlighting some of the amazing resources available through Open Sourcing Mental Illness (OSMI) and showing how they can help with your own mental health as well as making your workplace somewhere that nurtures and supports mental wellness. Finally, we'll also be equipped with some resources on where you can go to get help should you be suffering from mental health issues yourself.

Improvement point: try to speak to the audience more, instead of reading your text from a screen.

It's amazing to see someone talk so openly about their experience with mental health and particularly how that affects us in the development community.
It is fantastic to see someone care so much and to make sure everyone is aware of the options available to them.

Mark was courageous being so open with his story in this talk. It really hit home and was great food for thought.

I think the story part, while important could be a little shorter, and a guide or advice for how to deal with things if HR isn't available (such as in a smaller company that doesn't have dedicated HR people) would be useful.

Very brave and personal talk, exploring an important area that's not spoken about enough. I'd have liked a few more suggestions of warning signs to look for, and ways to protect one's mental health, but that's probably nitpicking a little.
