Great talk, really useful ideas, good delivery and engaging all round
I really enjoyed Ciaran's talk. Great pace, appropriate examples and good content made it a easy to follow and understand.
Good insightful talk into where Ciaran has went through his career and how we need to be smart about the coupling we do to frameworks.
Would have liked a few more examples of where coupling is perfectly fine / feasible as at times this talk still felt a little bit de-coupling friendly.
Excellent speaker, exactly what you want in a Keynote. Jessica kept the crowd engaged, entertained and most importantly hooked through her keynote.
Comparing communities isn't easy, but this gave us a great insight into how we're not all that different, and just because we think one thing is weird, we shouldn't think the people who take part in that thing are weird
I have a great interest in EventSourcing, but I've always had problems thinking about how I solve the issue with Replays or Versioning events. This talk didn't solve those problems for me, but it definitely pushed me in the right direction to building a stable base to work from.
Not showcasing EventSourcing and CQRS as a silver-bullet for every problem (especially in the PHP circle) was refreshing and opens the door to more libraries/better libraries for managing the CQRS/EventSourcing lifecycle
Good talk showcasing the benefits of using a distributed queueing architecture across service boundaries rather than relying on HTTP. Would have been great to see thec ode examples during the talk but unfortunately screen problems made this impossible
Great talk with good insightful detail on the benefits of microservices, the trade-offs you have to make, but also the ways you can solve some of these drawbacks
The talk had some really good content as well as some fascinating use cases.
Andy definitely showed he has the knowledge for these things but at the same time it was fairly obvious that the nerves were affecting him on the day.
At times it felt rushed due to the start being a bit too anecdotal and almost coming across as a sales pitch for the company Andy works for.
The content in the middle was great, and if more of a focus was placed on that for the future this talk can still go a long way to helping many people solve their API issues :)
Really enjoyable keynote. I wasn't exactly thrilled reading the keynote title of "Deploying PHP 7" but this was a great start to the day, Rasmus highlighting the benefits of moving to PHP7 along with some real-world data from Etsy as to the benefits to their system
Excellently presented and very informative. Thanks Rasmus!
