The new JSON fields are some of the most talking about new features in MySQL 5.7. But they are by no means the only awesome things this version has to offer. Gabriela described many features or modes in MySQL that I was unfamiliar with. I had a little difficulty understanding what she said at time and the slide was gone once I had deciphered it to myself. I hope the slides are posted. She make reference to the mysql documentation but as she observed the meaning is often obscure. She did a good job of explaining them. The in-depth explanation of the group_by behaviors/mode was superb.
I've already bumped into some of the problems pointed out in this presentation and I've learned new things which will help in the future. Thank you
