Think back to a time when you were in a conversation that could have gone better. Perhaps you said something the wrong way, or you walked away from the conversation not fully knowing if the other person even understood what you were trying to convey.

Technical trainers rely on effective communication as the foundation of everything that we do. We help end users to learn how to use software and adjust to new workflows, through the process of constantly adapting to different backgrounds, skill levels, and learning styles.

In this session, you’ll learn actionable strategies to begin thinking like a trainer, including:
- Using active listening techniques to communicate with empathy.
- Best practices for explaining technical concepts in non-technical terms.
- Adjusting your communication approach for different communication styles.

Using problem solving skills to help you get unstuck during difficult conversations.

I wanted to stand up a cheer. Thank you for a great overview and tips that I can start using right away.

Excellent talk with some great suggestions for effective communication. It also reinforced ideas that tech folks can use to more effectively talk with non-techies and still make their points clear. I particularly liked how empathy was reinforced in several places - talking with vs just talking to.

Wow. As a speaker this was a great talk with a lot of good takeaways. As a conference organizer, I wish every speaker I selected for my conferences had to watch this session before presenting.

Great talk. Lots of useful information and tips for better communication.

Great interactive approach. It is noticeable that you do treat us all as kids, and it is so cute. Especially the satisfaction on your face at the end of it, you realizing that it was a success just by looking all of our faces like we’re happy kids.
Thank YOU!

Great talk. Helpful to communicate better with my team.

I can't fault it. I would listen again.

It was a great talk that connected high level communication concepts with practical implementation. There's a bunch to learn about the topic itself, and how to give a keynote that provides value.

For me this talk goes for the "best talk of sunphp19"!

Great insights, tips & tricks, a must see for every developer that is not a 'lone-wolf'...

Now I need to remove 'simply' from all of my talks ....
