Think back to a time when you were in a conversation that could have gone better. Perhaps you said something the wrong way, or you walked away from the conversation not fully knowing if the other person even understood what you were trying to convey.
Technical trainers rely on effective communication as the foundation of everything that we do. We help end users to learn how to use software and adjust to new workflows, through the process of constantly adapting to different backgrounds, skill levels, and learning styles.

Excellent talk with some great suggestions for effective communication. It also reinforced ideas that tech folks can use to more effectively talk with non-techies and still make their points clear. I particularly liked how empathy was reinforced in several places - talking with vs just talking to.
Wow. As a speaker this was a great talk with a lot of good takeaways. As a conference organizer, I wish every speaker I selected for my conferences had to watch this session before presenting.

It was a great talk that connected high level communication concepts with practical implementation. There's a bunch to learn about the topic itself, and how to give a keynote that provides value.
