Would give a 4 but that last bit about azure deploymenrs was like forcefed infomercial.

Interesting enough, but too high level for a Dev Conference I thought! The cons (from a PHP/MySQLdevelopment point of view) with Windows Azure made it a questionable choice for a preferred cloud platform too.

Interesting and engaging talk, a little on the long side but Thijs knows his subject and brings a certain excitement. Could maybe benefit from a little less focus on Azure.

Was one of my best talks of the conference, interesting, informative and got me thinking about incorporating it into our business

The talk was definitely brought to life by Thijs' enthusiasm and knowledge of his subject. Slightly long though.

Definitely worth attending as Thijs is engaging and flexible in the way he presents. Content-wise, I think there were a lot of people in the room already doing fairly advanced stuff with cloud/dedicated platforms and wanted deeper detail rather than overview (I did). An improvement for me would have been some real-life examples of set-ups being used by clients and the problems or advantages of them. It also felt like it was much more cloud-focused than hybrid. Enjoyable though and I learned some things, but I know there are more crazy secrets hiding in your head and I wanted to hear some of them.

Great talk, and Thijs really engaged with the crowd.

Would have gone 5*, but felt it could have been a little bit more advanced, giving it a little bit more "how" rather than "why" and "can"

I found this particularly useful as a good starting point for those apps where you may need to scale shortly but aren't sure of the best approach. The step-by-step scaling slides were good eg single server, separate MySQL out, etc. It could have perhaps done with a bit more technical detail, but aside from that, Thijs is an energetic and engagin speaker.
