The reception itself was a welcome introduction to the event, but the layout of the venue made networking somewhat difficult. Most attendees were seated in an area that didn't lend itself to organic conversation beyond merely talking to one's neighbor.
The seating arrangement made it easier to talk to one's neighbor than move around and engage the other attendees.
