Gears (ehemals: Google Gears) ist ein Plug-in, das die Möglichkeiten von browserbasierten Anwendungen stark erweitert. Ist das Plug-in vorhanden, können Websites auf eine lokale Datenbank zugreifen, können Daten in einen Offline-Cache gelegt werden, kann JavaScript-Code asynchron ausgeführt werden, kann die aktuelle Position ermittelt werden und vieles mehr. Eine Session mit vielen Codebeispielen!
