Scrum Workshop - Working projects the iterative way - Part 1

Sebastian Schuermann (Jun 10, 2010 at 09:30)
Workshop at Dutch PHP Conference 2010 (English - UK)

Rating: 4 of 5

Scrum is a lightweight way of organizing and pulling of projects, focussing on the value of features and the regular event of estimation.

A predefined set of events and methods guides you through a iterative project development effort and makes always sure you get stuff delivered. The fullday workshop shows the basics, exercises planning poker and other educational games for the attendees. It's not a fullscale training with a certificate but it is a good introduction that will help you judge if scrum is good for you or not.

Good! Very interactive and also some actual hands-on practice with Scrum ceremonies. Little bit chaotic.

Sebastian was very good at getting people involved in the workshop, so this became less of a presenter/audience event and more of an interactive event (as the title suggested). I would have given it a five star rating had the first session been a bit snappier and if had covered a little more ground in total.

An enjoyable and interesting days tutorial. Sebastian covered not only the core principles and practices but also presented real world examples used in his own working practices. Giving everyone the opportunity to comment and suggest their own interpretation.

I really liked the interactivity during the workshop. The workshop never got dull and was easy to follow. And I think we got the point ;)!
