EUROBAUSTOFF- the largest retail co-operation in Europe

EUROBAUSTOFF is an alliance of medium-sized building materials enterprises. With 480 partner companies at 1200 locations in Germany and the neighboring German-speaking countries the umbrella organization covers about 50% of the German wholesale volume of construction materials. In Karlsruhe 250 employees generated sales of over 3 billion euro in the last year. The Europe-wide turnover of the group: 9 billion euro.

The alliance’s extranet includes over 5 different databases (e.g. Oracle, HP, DB2) to dynamically include the base data for each partner company as well as the individual volume-based rebate rates for all the suppliers.

The management of the employees of a partner company is carried out decentralized by the company itself (over 15,000 logins) in the TYPO3 frontend.

The content access of the extranet is controlled by a three-layer privilege-system mapped in a way to exactly control presentation of information. External applications are controlled via a single sign-on process; editorial content of more than 25 authors is updated in its own workflow system.
