Apache Solr is an Open Source enterprise search server based on the Lucene library. Functions of Solr include XML / HTTP and JSON APIs, hit highlighting, faceted search, caching, replication, a web administration interface, and much more.
Over the last year we've been building an extension that integrates Apache Solr with TYPO3. This talk aims to give an introduction to Apache Solr, the TYPO3 extension and the amazing features that solution offers for a website and its search infrastructure.
