This will be a basic introduction to module development, but will cover the concepts of hooks, callbacks and Drupal standards and methodologies. There will be three phases of increasingly complex modules that will hopefully allow everyone in the audience to get something out of the presentation. I'll go through the process of developing a header carousel module using the jquery cycle plugin. I'll write it in such a way as to show how to create content types, set permissions and provide both template and CSS. The module developed will not be an ideal module in that it will be duplicating features found elsewhere, it's more appropriate as a learning aid.
