Talk at UNC CAUSE 2010 (English - US)
Today’s students grew up in a world of video game characters such as Mario, Donkey Kong and Sonic the Hedgehog. Appalachian State University’s Honors College created a class called Film Worlds, Game Worlds in the spring of 2010. Taught by a Computer Science Professor, an E-Librarian, and an Educational Media Specialist, students learned about the production of games and film by creating their own video games. Using video games as the main instructional tool, we were able to keep students excited about learning subjects such as computer science, storytelling, censorship, and media production. This presentation is a case study about the interdisciplinary seminar course, Film Worlds, Game Worlds, including the successes and limitations of using video games as instructional tools.

Very interesting topic. It's evident you enjoy teaching and recognize the skills acquired behind game design. Nice take-aways too
