M3.07 - The IT Razor: What's New on the Bleeding Edge

D Scott Dittman (21.Feb.2011 at 13:00)
Talk at SACRAO 2011 (English - US)

Rating: 5 of 5

SESSION ROOM: ATLANTA 4

Have you ever wondered about some of the IT terminology that you hear from your students, IT staff or vendors, or in the news? Do terms like cloud computing, cyberinfrastructure, and shibboleth leave you tongue-tied and wondering why you should learn how to pronounce it, let alone learn what it means to you and your office? This session provides a basic primer for the non-technical person of what terminology and initiatives are new on the IT horizon and what it may mean to you and your processes.
