Melody Rodriguez, M.Ed. (22.Feb.2011 at 15:00)
Talk at SACRAO 2011 (English - US)
SESSION ROOM: ATLANTA 5
Since its creation in 2003, the HOLA Program (Hispanic Outreach & Leadership at Armstrong) has nearly doubled the enrollment of Latino students at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah. HOLA has helped recruit, retain and graduate Hispanics in a geographic area that is predominantly non-Latino. The program has been responsive to the needs of the growing Latino population and sensitive to the needs of high-achieving undocumented students. In this session you will learn how to overcome the challenges of recruiting Latinos and serve their culture.
