Picked up some useful tidbits about specific features of Github and some of the other systems out there. Despite Lorna's... um, less than glowing opinion of the platform and its underlying VCS, there was some pretty constructive stuff in there. Particularly interesting discussion at the end on how the tools available affect the workflow of a project. Specifically I was after the real world experiences, (e.g. the use of an alternative issue tracker) and that was delivered.

Solid talk! The speaker dealt very well with the circumstance (loud environment) and talked with a nice background of actual experience with many platforms and workflows and how everything goes together.

It was a pleasure hearing from someone that doesn't have a _very_ strong opinion about which scm is THE BEST but talk about what works easier with what and which platform offers which benefits.
