This session is a comprehensive look at the state of flash storage today. There's so much new technology that it's hard to understand what's available. This session explains technologies and products: Flash, SSD, FusionIO, MLC, SLC, NAND, and NOR. It looks at benefits and drawbacks of each of them, including a price/space/performance comparison. You'll see benchmarks and you'll learn how to get the most from flash storage for MySQL - but the improvements will likely translate similar for other databases as well.

Fantastic talk, interesting area despite the fact I'm not likely to be splashing out on a $6k fusionio in the immediate future. Really enjoyed the depth of knowledge and the visible enthusiasm for the subject, met every expectation.

Very good talk especially since these are not tests that I could ever have tried myself given the costs involved. Morgan's thorough coverage of the subject means that I can just use the results with confidence.
