Redis – Your advanced in-memory key-value store

Most of the NoSQL movement happened around the Map/Reduce type of storage, while Redis, mostly unknown, shines by it’s simplicity. It is an in-memory database that (unlike Memcached) persists the data to disk to survive failures. It can help scale up write-heavy applications, but also serves as a great tool to understand how most databases work and learn to think in lower level storage terms.

A very nice general overview of Redis, good talk on scalability and concurrency as well.

Good introduction into Resist. Could have dealt with questions a bit better by offering to get back at people.

Nice overview of all the Redis functionality. As soon as the cluster is there I'm sure we'll take a deeper look and probably start using it.

The content of the talk was excellent. To make the presentation even better you could speak more clearly and especially finish the sentences or don't start if you don't know how to finish (perhaps it was the language barrier?). As mentioned, question handling could be better. You obviously were well-versed on the topic and carelessly threw around some very valuable insights. The slides were great and with a better presentation the next audience will be blown away.

For me a good insight to the possibilities of Redis.
Missed the part about the installation and supported platforms.

Very interesting content, and it was clear that Jordi is very passionate about Redis and an expert on the subject. There is room for improvement when it comes to presentation techniques; maybe rehearsing a bit more might result in more confidence and a more fluent presentation. However, the content made up for it big time and I'm definitely going to play around with Redis!
