‘Offline websites’ – sounds like an instant contradiction, right? But as the internet slowly creeps into every corner of our lives, what kind of magic do we have to cast to guard against losing all functionality the moment a network becomes unavailable? Also, the fastest byte is a byte not sent, so the fastest website is the website that doesn’t need to load anything.
It’s time to flip the web on its head and start building websites offline-first. This workshop by the organisers of jQuery UK, will teach you tips, tricks and design patterns to enable you to create future-proof, high performance offline-first web applications. Together we’ll create working web applications using the latest browser technologies that will work offline directly from the browser on more than 80% of the web.
