Amazing talk. As a PHP n00b, I got a lot out of this talk. I wish it was the first talk of the day, as I would have been listening for some the keys concepts in other talks that day. As it was I had to stop and try to remember how the other talks related. The emphasis of community was great. Since I can't seem to find a UG near where I live, I guess I'll have to start one!
While I agree with the above comment (time issues) I really think this talked was very well planned and presented. Really liked the use of peoples names as variables (party line code) vs 'foo' and 'bar'. I really dislike 'foo-bar'. As a newbie in the PHP world, I got a good overview of concepts I need to understand, and a great list of resources to find them.
Opps...put my comments for this talk under the Washington stop, not Miami.
Liked the mention of the differences, yet similarities of URL/URI/IRI. Very well presented and prepared. I will need to look into these protocols more. Thanks Ben!
Great session, sorry we ran of time. Learned a new word; idempotent. Next day sitting a reading my latest LinuxJournal mag, it had some of the same concepts with using telnet to send and get headers. It's nice to see "real world" use of things you learn in a conference setting. Very well prepared and presented, even if the projector was weak.
I attached to the original version of the slides for the talk. These slides are more verbose then the ones that I showed that day. If you would rather have the actual slides I used - please let me know.
Too much information and/or not enough time. Too fast.
Superb talk. The pictures of the trip interlaced with the code and examples kept my interested the entire time. I'm planning a trip to Scotland soon and want to do this mapping/geocoding now. Thanks!
