Derek presented a brief intro to REST and used cURL samples as examples in consuming REST services. He had a polished delivery and Q&A was very interesting with a lot of questions. The presentation itself was a little short but the extended Q&A made up for it. I would attend again and look forward to hearing more from him.
Derek displayed his passion and knowledge about Restful web services and the best practices that he has seen when connecting to other APIs as well as providing his own. There were plenty of questions that he was able to provide answers for.
It would be interesting to see a bit more code around working with APIs.
