Phil covered all of the reasons why you want to have a better debugging strategy than just var_dump and how to get xdebug setup for breakpoints and debugging. Great presentation content and delivery!
Phil did a good job walking through the benefits of using a debugger as well as how to install XDebug and configure PHPStorm and SublimeText. The talk fit the allotted time, it did not feel rushed, and he was well-prepared to answer questions.
