Let’s get rid of the poorly written code and consequently countless hours of energy being drained, trying to understand the smelling codes. This talk is about diving into values and principles for software craftsman.

Magento Security Best Practices – Magento Security Scan Tool Security is a growing focal point in e-commerce operations. Explore real world data breach insights. This session covers security best practices, and how a merchant can benefit from the use of Magento’s new Security Scan tool. Magento is releasing a new security tool to help merchants, solution and hosting partners raise the security awareness level of their Magento ecommerce sites. During this session, Magento will discuss how Magento Security Best Practices benefit merchant security along with the benefits of automated security monitoring for Magento sites. The features and capabilities in the Magento Security Scan tool will illustrate how merchants and hosting providers can improve site security and protect themselves from ecommerce cyber-attacks. The security tool will be available for web and local security scanning across Magento 1.X, 2.X and Magento Enterprise Cloud online stores.

Magento 2.2 delivers a number of new features to simplify deployment build pipelines with more secure sites. This talk would be an extension of my MagentoLive UK talk on 2.2 new features and use them in build pipelines.

From browser caching, to full page caching, to code caching, to Magento “indexes”, this talk explores the many types of caching that are at play when serving a Magento web page to a user’s browser and asks the question… “What would the world be like, without any caching?”

As customers spend less and less time browsing from their desktop and more and more time on devices that they expect to talk to each other, a supplemental ecommerce architecture is required to fit into their world. Paul will demonstrate a customer experience that reflects new customer expectations and sews multiple devices together into a seamless experience.

Our goal as developers is to create robust code that is easy to understand, maintain, and extend. At Magento, we follow many principles when designing solutions and writing code. I will cover some of these principles that could help you create better extensions.
