A very nice comparison of both frameworks without bias.
Pros and cons about both symfony and laravel were nicely lined up, and also the structural differences between both frameworks were laid out nicely.
A true technical comparison was somewhat absent, but maybe that is a good subject for a next presentation.
Very clear and easy to follow introduction of both frameworks. Both were presented without any preference. No use of difficult terms so people, even without an programming background, could follow with ease.
The demonstration of the possibilities offered by the laravel community were a nice added value.
Conclusion, a presentation that was pleasant to attend. Hopefully an extra presentation will follow that zooms in on more technical aspects of each framework.
A good introduction to version control, why we need it and what its benefits are. Followed by all basic git commands you need in a logical order. I think most of the people in the room already knew the basics of git, which was a bit unfortunate.
The part about continuous deployments was short but very helpful.
