Composer Best Practices

Great info, but I would have liked to move through the semantic versioning stuff faster and focus more on the advanced stuff.

Great presentation for composer noobs and veterans.

Odd mix of content levels from the seemingly simple sem ver concept and numeric version filtration to the complex conflict of stability levels and tags.

Presentation seemed defeated at times. Tried to make strong points with a mumble. Didn't seem excited.

Regardless, thanks for your important contribution to this community.

I did crave a bit more in depth presentation here However, I would say that your content title and description matched exactly what you gave.

Overall great presentation. I am not sure what I was expecting from the presentation, but it really seemed to center around the semver stuff and making sure you were understanding what package version you would get.

This has been a huge issue for me at work because we have limited tests currently (but improving), so we hardcode exact versions of packages to make sure that we don't accidentally break our systems.

I am trying to get the management team to understand that we should at least allow all the bugfixes to auto update via composer.

Good stuff. Some of this was refresher for me but it was presented in a clear and understandable style.
