Good talk, and covered all the basics of starting with Docker for development. Would love some more on porting that knowledge to production, to deploy on a server with docker-compose or even look into some other docker based services like aws fargate.
Good talk. Gunnard had many insights as to why a team needs to integrate Docker as part of their development process. The talk was introductory in nature and gave brief descriptions of basic Dockerfile and docker-compose.yml.
Great presentation. He did a good job breaking down Docker to base components. It was great intro to docker presentations with examples. My only suggestion would be to include/display the link to the github repo in the presentation slide.
So so so helpful. I (like so many of us) work on a lot of legacy code, so it was great to get a history of how things have grown from the beginning and an idea of what the ideal appearance of a PHP application is.
As a newer PHP developer, I found this talk to be a very helpful overview and explanation of common designs in modern PHP applications. I especially liked the clear examples he used to demonstrate his opinions.
I enjoyed the flow of the talk from some of the history of how PHP apps were built before and moving into what some of the trends are today. A lot of the concepts are present in modern frameworks today so some are maybe more familiar with them already, maybe doing more of a deep dive into specific concepts, more than in the talk today, would be helpful.
Simplest explanation I’ve seen of the gross steps for OAuth, excellent.
A really great look at the intricacies, terms, and pitfalls of OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect. Not too deep, but full of all sorts of great information!
Enjoyed the talk! I use docker everyday, and I came away with some new insights and things I want to try back at work.
Gave me, a newer PHP developer a good lesson on the evaluation of the structure. Because of it, I see where our current method falls into the current standards. Presentation itself was spoken very quickly and softly however.
