Great talk!
Excellent information on docker - plenty of meat packed into 30 minutes. Great job!
Great presentation and workshop. Was easy to follow along and learned a lot!
It was really great to see more of what makes a “good” package in the eyes of the open source community (ala Ben of course). It’s been a long time since I’ve had time to really dedicate to open source projects and so many of the tools presented here really bridge the gap between what was and what the current expectations are.
I came into this talk with zero C experience, and while there was plenty that I'm sure went over my head I still walked away having learned a lot!
Well delivered and good simplified examples. I always think that's very helpful as new concepts are already difficult to take in as it is, so having a simple abstraction for it (like the turnstile state diagram) helps avoid information overload.
I personally enjoyed this because I do have some basic shell scripting experience already, but I think a complete beginner could miss some context here and there. I definitely learned new and nifty stuff I'll be applying very soon. One thing from the abstract I was missing is "what is POSIX", haha. But I can just google that :p Thanks for a great talk
Really enjoyed this, relatively easy to follow along and well-prepared. Of course it helps that the speaker is very knowledgeable so he could quickly adapt/resolve any snags attendees ran into. Good stuff!
Audio problems aside, this was a well-presented overview of how extensions work, the way they tie into the broader PHP ecosystem, and an opportunity to get hands on with a practical extension.
As someone who has dabbled in C for years but never gotten started with extensions this was a great way for me to get my feet wet!
Great talk!
