Things change fast in the PHP world. If you don't stop every once in a while and look around, PHP will pass you by. With regular point releases coming out, it's tough sometimes to keep up with all the new features that the core developers are constantly giving us. Join this session as we walk through the changes that came with PHP 7.1. We'll take a look at the important changes and how you can use them in your projects. Along the way, we'll say a fond farewell to some features that have served their purpose and are now just a fond memory...or nightmare.

Quick overview of the new features available in the newer versions. Cal is great!

Very nice overview of the new feature, without missing some less known.

Before the talk, you talk a lot and make you look as your nervous. Very change.

Cal provided clean, clear, simple examples of using the new features. This talk provided me what I need to know to use the new features as intended.

I learned a lot about new features that we can definitely take advantage of and improve the quality of our coding - especially the stuff about type hinting.

Great presentation with valuable information, and I enjoyed the pre-session witty banter

I thought this went way too slowly

In retrospect, I'd rate this a 2, not a 1, but joind.in won't let me edit.

Cal always provides an engaging talk. Much of the info presented here was review for me, but I needed the review. I liked that each point was concise and interesting.
