PHP owes its appeal and popularity to its low barriers to entry. Anyone with access to a basic LAMP stack can get started in just a few hours, but if you want to write a production-level application, you need the right tools. The PHP community today relies heavily on Composer and PHPUnit as tools and PSRs as the common dialect. npm is the unavoidable front-end counterpart to Composer. Git, though not specific to PHP, is critical to developing a maintainable project. This talk will guide you through these topics so you have a basic understanding of the modern PHP developer's toolbox.

Good talk. Alex knows his stuff on the subject matter and gave a good overview of PHP tools.
A negative was long pauses in the presentation's flow .
Alex did a great job, and is willing to spend time discussing ideas after his talk.
Pros: The content was easy to follow and very useful.
Cons: A little too soft spoken sometimes.
Great talk! Spoke and things he was sure off and admitted when something was out of his scope. Only recommendation is to watch the length of pauses.
It was just the right topic to begin the conference. Alex spoke from experience in a friendly, down-to-earth way. He adjusted his topics on the fly to accommodate the audience, which is difficult to do but very appreciated. I loved the examples of old code and "worst practices" which really highlighted how beneficial his recommendations were. Some of the terms and tools Alex discussed were new to me (or I'd only heard a bit in passing) so this talk helped me get more out of the other talks I attended.
I agree with the other commenter who suggested that he was at times too soft-spoken and would benefit from learning how to project his voice.
The presentation was laid out well and Alex stayed on topic. He kept the attendees involved by asking questions. A lot of material was covered and Alex is very knowledgeable
