Over the last couple of years, I have heard of Event sourcing but didn't really know where to start until I did a tutorial at DPC '17. After having some basic information it was time to start a Hackathon and after that something production worthy. In this talk I will try to give the best information to get started and to know some of the problems you can face if you begin event-sourcing.

I've read about event sourcing before, and I just didn't get it. This talk did it. Tim also explained why he didn't get it when others explained it (lack of code examples) and then went into detail about how to do it. This presentation was a great start for anybody wanting to learn event sourcing and I hope Tim will do this talk more often.
It tries to explain a fictional system that uses event sourcing, and does so quite well in my opinion. For a person not familiar with building your own event sourced system it provides useful information and tips for learning about the architecture and also presents useful tools for working with it. It was clearly a talk about things the speaker was passionate about!
Perhaps a little too technical and dry (if a talk about event sourcing with beer could be considered dry) and too much code on the slides - code on slides isn't always easily readable, though fortunately the room was small enough that this wasn't a real issue.
But overall a good introduction to event sourcing
