Humanity has seen an explosion of technology over the span of almost no time. We have gone from computers being mechanical devices for crunching trajectories to computers making decisions on whether or not we are dressing fashionably. We have also seen an explosion of services that resolve around massive amounts of data about ourselves. At the same time we see developers working on Tor, ad blockers, privacy tools, and ways to keep your data yours. Programmers just like us are building these systems. What are our moral obligations to the technology that we are building? Strap on your tinfoil hat and [REDACTED]

Good talk to get all developers thinking about their moral obligations. Would have liked some more about how to fight back but I understand that wasn't the point of this talk.
What would a web conference be without a side of paranoia? I was looking forward to this talk all week, and I was not let down.
Great talk. Liked how mostly the whole topic was done with relying on slides. Speaker mixed in humor with real issues we are faced with. To be honest, part of me was hoping he was going to show some sort of network traffic page at the end showing the affect of us turning all our phones off then on. But overall, very well done. Thanks.

Great talk, I agree with some of the other reviews that going into "and what you can do about it" would have been very useful. But the data trolling with our phones was worth every "thumbs up" rating. Mostly I was just really happy to see others talking about this subject.
Great talk about the pitfalls of the modern era regarding the safety of your personal information. I learned some example cases that support my understanding of the situation that can help me explain the importance to others. Also great food for thought about what we collect in our programs and why. One of the best sessions I attended at this conference.
