One word: surprisingly good. Fair enough that's two words. As an fanboy of AWS I thought let's see (and laugh) at the competition. The speaker was an inspirational speaker, the google app engine definitely has a use case and solve problems in a very different way in comparison how we use AWS.
This was interesting and entertaining. Having no experience with the Google cloud services a little bit more explanation would have been useful for me but I still found it engaging and insightful
Really good and informative talk. Only thing I think it was missing was maybe a little more overview of some of the Google Cloud components, what they are for and why to use them. App Engine seems to have come along a long way since I last looked at it, and I'm keen to have a play around with it now.

However, speaking as an AWS user who has never used Google Cloud, the content was not what I expected and did nothing to inspire me to switch. I would have liked more explanation on the services Google Cloud offer.
An interesting talk, with plenty of live demo'ing which certainly keeps things interesting. Talk felt as though some prior knowledge of Google Cloud would have been advantageous to understand a little more about what was going on in the demo. As an Amazon AWS user, a brief overview of Google Cloud and the services being used would have helped to improve interest.
Great talk. Some interesting ideas of how Terrence achieved the qps and struggles he had. I just don't know google apps and phrases like Firebase or appEngine doesn't tell me much. You could explain what those tools do.
Good insight to Google Cloud and how it can handle requests, great use of firebase and visualisation for the live demo, glad the wifi worked! Some info gained on how to maximise use on what you have before asking for more, limits are there for a reason!
Hi all, thanks for the feedback. The reason I did not include more GCP definitions and overview is that I worry that type of content can be construed as "salesy."
I'll try and do a better job of balancing basic working definitions vs being too salesy in the future.

Excellent overview of the capabilities of AppEngine with some great deep dive stuff on the intricacies of developing against the limits.

The speaking style was entertaining, well paced and confident. It made following along incredibly easy as it was very engaging.
The live demo was really cool, and the comparisons to large-scale apps and how easy it can be to scale that big was really neat.

The live demo was entertaining - and brave. However the talk didn't persuade me to move from AWS Elastic Beanstalk to Google App Engine.
