Good session, but there is too much noise bleeding over from the session next to us. Makes it hard to hear the presenter and comments from the other attendess at times. :(
Really fun (and useful) workshop. Thought we hade a good solution by the second iteration, but the constraints for the third made it more difficult and listening to the proposed solution as well as some ideas from the others in the workshop made us think twice about the "good" of our attempts
One of the things I really wanted to do at Zendcon this year was fool around and write some code I don't care about. I didn't realize before this talk that that's a thing people do outside of a hackathon environment. The talk was really interesting and made me want to continue this practice at home. This is nothing against the speaker (he was great) but it would have been nice to have more audience participation in the wrap-ups. I guess that's on us.
Conway's Game of Life was a problem that seemed to have a simple solution but turned out to be more challenging as Yitz added more constraints. I am looking forward to adding regular coding practice to my regimen, and plan on passing along the idea to my coworkers. Thanks for the fun workshop!
I like the ideas and opportunity to practice them. Deliberate practice is an important concept for all to embrace.
