The speaker clearly knows a lot about the topic. I would have been more interested in hearing the a to z story of how he built one of his projects. Instead we got reviews on components we might use and a list of his projects. Which - as an absolute beginner on this topic - is not a lot of help.
His conclusion: you don't need a lot of electronic know how to get started.
My conclusion: to get started I would need to buy a 'build this cool thing' kit.
