Nice overview of Internet history & engineering responsibilities.
Great content and message.
Kinda rambly but I'm glad she didn't get super political.
Informative and inspiring !
Samantha's keynote was really good, and inspirational. Fun trip down memory lane as she went over the history of how ARAPNET was invented and grew into the internet we know and love/hate today.
Great history of internet and wisdom on being a good diligent engineer, not just a code monkey
Great talk, particularly as it reminded us of our place in the greater history of engineering in humanity. While we may feel insignificant in the big picture, we still have an obligation, as the Order of Engineers tells their members, to ensure we pursue the benefit of humanity and serve the public good with our knowledge and skills whenever we can.
It was very interesting
I strongly suspect we'll be seeing the need for ethics in our profession in 2018. Samantha, by being something of a computing historian, ably describes where we've come from, showing what we can become.
Good background, professional talk. Good reminder to be stewards about what we have and the responsibility that lays at our hands.
