Benchmarking Applications And Frameworks

I missed the start, but I liked the fact that it was more than just benchmarking. Time was spent to analyze when benchmarks are relevant and when they are not. This puts the actual benchmarks in a proper perspective. Great talk!

Very enlighting.

Interesting that you stress the important thing not being speed but knowledge about the outer limitations of a system.

Great talk. Time for some benchmarks!

Very good content, will take it into account when testing the performance of our apps. Thank you.

A very good talk about benchmarking. I loved how Paul used the example of how he benchmarked several frameworks, to give insight on how to deal with benchmarking in general - and, for example, how to isolate the part of the system that you actually want to measure. Very well brought and clearly explained what the results from the benchmarks meant (and maybe more important: what they don't tell). Definitely one of the best talks I have seen at this conference. Thank you!

A very nice talk by Paul! Well brought and with so much energy, passion, it was just really fun to listen to.

As for me, I didn't really know a lot about benchmarking, and I learned a lot from your talk. It also made me curious to go and do some benchmarking myself and it made me realize that benchmarking really is an important aspect in the development of an application or a website.

Great talk overall!

Very useful talk. I'm benchmarking our framework now and it seems to be doing really good. From now on we will evaluate our benchmark results for the stuff we build more carefully and test according to the steps you defined.

Great talk, explaining Paul's great FW benchmarking work. He's definitely a great speaker, both able to convey interesting content and keep the audience attention at high levels thanks to proper changes of pace. Also interesting results and references. As w/ Tech Debt talk, here also, I've found analogies w/ other disciplines very appropriate. I definitely recommend you attend this talk, if you have a chance to!

Good talk. Gonna try out your wrapper tool

Great talk by Paul. Nice overview about benchmarking and how to setup your own benchmarking environment.

Great talk! Especially about it not only being numbers on a big screen ;-) Liked the remarks about capacity planning!

Great talk. The speaker really knows how to talk to a large audience and he knows what he's talking about. Some great insights on the do's and don'ts of benchmarking.

Very good talk. Learned a lot to start benchmarking.

I've caught this talk a couple times and I *love* the fact that he emphasizes figuring out the relative difference between the systems and making his results reproducible. As much as benchmarking can be an art versus a science, he makes the science workable.

Very informative talk.
Especially the explanation that it is more important to look at differences in benchmarks between different numbers than actual results.
I will be using this in the future! tnx!

Very interesting. The subject was treated differently than I expected. Things I picked up were the importance and method of establishing a baseline of your platform and stack, and the relativity of benchmark values.

Presenter speaks very clearly and needs no microphone to fill the room. Talk was clearly structured and easy to follow along.
