Angular or Backbone: Go Mobile!

Usage of frameworks in mobile applications and within Cordova specifically, the part I was particularly interested in, felt like more of a tail-end footnote than a focus of the talk, which was rather disappointing. As a comparison of varying designs and paradigms in the two frameworks, the talk was OK, though it didn't feel particularly valuable compared to dedicated talks on either framework.

The talk was very much what it said on the box: a comparison of Angular and Backbone. The content felt rather dry, focusing on comparison charts rather than compelling reasons to adopt either framework. The Cordova component – one of the main draws for the talk – felt rushed by the end.

Splitting this into two talks might be more appropriate: one to determine which framework is right for different use cases, while the other would be something like "let's build a simple S.P.A. using X framework, then wrap it up in a Cordova application."

Having never used Angular or Backbone I learned some important gotchas to know before starting out with those frameworks. I really wanted to see more about Cordova and how it helps build mobile apps.

Basically just a sales pitch for backbone but could have been less biased and giving examples of when one framework would be better than the other.
