Being fast, lightweight and embeddable, Lua got its reputation through game engines and desktop applications. With rise of microservice architecture popularity in building web applications, Lua is also becoming an important player in web development.

After quick introduction to microservices, we’ll show how Lua fits in backend development and how it can be used in Redis and Nginx.

Great talk

I will definitely play with a bit of Lua now.

Not bad, but I didn't get an idea of why I should use Lua specifically. There are a lot of tools and languages these days.

Good talk

Nice introduction to the language, I especially liked the parallels to PHP.
I had no idea that Lua can be used with Nginx which definitely opens some possibilities.

On top of that Luka's presentation style is also engaging and easy to follow!

I already saw this talk few years ago and with all of the changes it felt like a completely new talk: I loved it!

Suggestion: I would love going on a tutorial/workshop, 40 minutes is just enough to get us interested in it but then we are left on our own to find time to play with it

Awesome to see what's possible with Lua. It might have been nice to present a bit more about what makes Lua (as a language itself) unique (if there is such a thing), but otherwise I really liked that you focused on use cases rather than syntax. Great delivery: calm but engaging.

I loved the comparison with PHP and general ease with which Luka pulled us into new language. Very much enjoyable.

Thank you Luka.
