When did you stop speaking up? Was it when you were told you were too sensitive? Was it when Bill got credit for the idea everyone said sucked last week? When considering diversity and inclusion, when those generally not in the majority are invited to the table, they aren’t always heard. But how can we encourage diversity of thought? We must encourage thoughtful inclusivity of speakers.
We will look at the ways that teams can encourage those who have been silenced before to speak up and how those that have been silenced can get their voice back.

The kind of talk that keeps your head nodding the whole time because it's full of so many truths.
I really enjoyed the "This is a talk about..." slides throughout the talk, as it served as a constant reminder why inclusiveness is so crucial.
I'll second Steve Grunwell's point and add that this was by far my favorite talk of this whole first day, and I look forward to seeing it turned into a Keynote one day. Merline's talk was informative, motivating and very inspiring.
Merline shared a lot of useful ally skills for both sides of the equation and presented it in an actionable way.
